The first Ferguson tractor was built in partnership with David Brown in 1936, but soon after Ferguson left for America to continue production there. It wasn't until 1946 that a Ferguson was again built in England, the Ferguson TE - for Tractor England. Ferguson merged with Massey-Harris in 1953 to become Massey-Ferguson.
